I. Background

ECOPRENEUR: Leading the way in Eco-Innovations and Sustainable Living will serve as a platform for ecopreneurs to showcase their creativity and innovative minds that lead the way in developing sustainable start-up business ideas that can bring positive environmental and social change. The contest will shed light on how to identify, support, and nurture ecopreneurs who are committed in addressing pressing global issues through business solutions, forging a path towards a sustainable, greener, and more equitable future. In addition, the event seeks to catalyze a wave of eco-conscious entrepreneurs to inspire the audience to promote and support businesses that will transform our world for the better.With the help of this, participants will be able to work on creative ways on how to address today's environmental and economic issues by sharing their opinions and perspectives with one another. Ecopreneurs will craft plans in order to show to their communities and surroundings that sustainable development is worth advocating. They will eventually gain greater awareness about various cultural backgrounds with a twist of entrepreneurship by partaking in this contest. They can build connections with new people to broaden their perspectives. Moreover, this is definitely a good start for someone who aims to have a successful business in the future while still protecting and promoting environmental sustainability.

The competition aims to inspire creative ideas that contribute to the well-being of the planet and society. It will also provide a platform for students to showcase their solutions and contribute to the development of sustainable entrepreneurship.
Promoting Knowledge Sharing and Advocacy
The competition serves as a forum for students to share their insights, discuss challenges, and advocate for ideas that support responsible business practices. The objective is to encourage collaborative efforts in promoting sustainability and sustainable entrepreneurship.
Recognizing and Encouraging Sustainable Entrepreneurship Practices
This competition highlights responsible business practices and aims to build a global community of sustainability champions. Our ultimate goal is to showcase how sustainable entrepreneurship can positively impact both the environment and society.

I. The ECOPRENEUR: Leading the way in Eco-Innovations and Sustainable Living is open to all bonafide undergraduate students in Metro Manila who have accepted and duly confirmed the invitation sent by the EcoSync PUP.
II. Participants are required to form a group with a maximum of 3 members only.
III. Teams who wish to join the competition should fill-up all the necessary details in the Online Registration Form on or before DECEMBER 27, 2023

C. Content Guidelines

I. Each team should submit a LEAN TYPE of Business Proposal. You may refer to this link for the content of the paper.

II. The proposed business idea must focus on bringing environmental and social change, specifically addressing and eradicating current issues or problems in the tourism industry of the country and promoting sustainable development. The following are the top 10 priority topics for business ideas.a. Protecting Biodiversity

d. Natural Resource Conservation
e. Reducing consumption
f. Increasing energy efficiency

D. Submission Guidelines

I. The submission deadline is on December 30, 2023.
II. Each participant or team is limited to submit a single business proposal entry. Participants must submit their entries strictly in PDF Format.
III. Proposals must be submitted through the Submission Entry Link given by the organizers.
IV. Entries must be submitted in this format.

E. Judging Guidelines and Criteria

I. After the deadline of submission on December 30, 2023, all entries will undergo an initial screening.
--- To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, the organizers created an Independent Selection Panel composed of the faculty members of the college to evaluate each entry and ensure a more objective evaluation of participants.
--- The organizers will also implement a Blind Evaluation where the selection panel will review the submission without knowing the identities and affiliation of the participants.
II. The organizers will be announcing the Top 5 Shortlisted Participants on our Official Facebook Page – EcoSync: Syncing Nature to Tourism on January 5, 2024.
III. Criteria

F. Presentation Guidelines

I. The Top 5 Shortlisted Participants will be pitching their business proposal ideas on the event day, January 11, 2024.
II. Each team will be given 5 minutes to present their business proposal face to face and then another 5 minutes will be allotted for the Q&A Portion.
III. The Presentation will be evaluated by the Board of Judges on the day adhering to the contests’ guidelines and criteria.

G. Prizes and Recognition

Winners will be announced on January 11, 2024, during the event proper and on the organizer’s social media platforms. Prizes are as follows.
1. The WINNING TEAM will receive a cash prize of Php 7,500, alongside this they will be presented with a plaque and certificates recognizing their success as champions.
2. The FIRST RUNNER UP will receive Php 4,000 cash and be provided with certificates.
3. The SECOND RUNNER UP will be awarded a cash prize of Php 1,500 and will receive certificates.
4. Certificates of participation will be presented to all competing individuals/ teams during the awarding ceremony.Terms and Conditions
1. The Entries should adhere to the content guidelines and criteria given by the organizers. Any entries that are believed to involve plagiarism, fraud, or similar misconduct will be disqualified.
2. By submitting their entries, participants grant the organizers the right to use their names, business ideas and related details for promotional purposes related to the competition.
3. The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the contest rules, which will be communicated to participants promptly.
4. The decision of the Organizing Committee, Independent Selection Panel and Board of Judges are final and irrevocable.By participating, participants acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions.
